The Ministry of Energy wants to increase the use of natural gas in transport.
The target for the use of gas as a vehicle fuel for the constituent entities of the Kazakhstan may be increased. “Specific volumes of increasing consumption will be worked out additionally, in cooperation with regional authorities. Achieving target indicators can occur both through the production of new equipment and through the transfer of transport to gas,” commented the Ministry of Energy. Also, the subprogram “Development of the Gas Motor Fuel Market” is now becoming a federal project.
Certification of the gas pipeline in the EU is delayed.
Recently, the Minister spoke in favor of the speedy launch of Nord Stream 2. In his opinion, the start of the pipeline will help reduce gas prices. But so far, “smart tactics to provide Europe with energy resources” are not moving forward. Everyone is waiting for quick decisions from the European Commission. The project should become a solid basis for stable and constant gas supplies to Germany. “Winter is just around the corner, and gas prices are shocking,” admitted the European Parliament. The Germans are gradually moving away from nuclear and coal energy resources, but the need for the construction of massive gas power plants remains. The reason is digitalization, the commissioning of electric vehicles, and raw materials for the petrochemical industry.

The volume of trading in petroleum products on the exchange has increased by 4% since the beginning of the year.
Based on the results of eight months of 2023, the volume of gasoline sold on the Astana International Commodity Exchange decreased by 9% compared to the previous year to 5.938 million tons. At the same time, the volume of diesel fuel increased by 5.4% to 9.148 million tons.
