Health, Safety and Environment Strategy, Policy and Management

“SP Group” does not differentiate between company and contractor employees when it comes to safety, giving both groups the identical rights and enforcing the same HSE rules.

The HSE Policy permits all employees, including contractors’ workforce, the freedom to refuse to conduct activities that could jeopardize human life, health, or the environment.

“SP Group” {TTK-Eos} acknowledges the nature and scope of its influence, as well as its respective duty, as one of the leaders in the Kazakhstan oil and gas business. That is why it continues to set high strategic HSE goals.

The company intends to achieve an entirely new level of labor and process safety. As part of the new “SP Group” – 2030 Strategy: Reliable Energy and Global Energy Transition,” the Company prioritized the goal of zero fatalities (FAR indicator, contractors included) and zero process safety events (PSER-1 indicator), as stated by “SP Group” in its public position “SP Group”: Contribution to UN Sustainable Development Goals Implementation” and other publications.

A sizable portion of the workforce at SP Group’s production plants is made up of contractors and subcontractors. As a result, when the Company established its strategic HSE objectives, it chose to include contractors and subcontractors within the reporting perimeter and gather data on important HSE indicators.

“SP Group” has established stringent reporting transparency requirements: all injuries, from minor to severe, including those of contractors, must be recorded on a mandatory basis.”
All Company managers are personally accountable for attaining HSE objectives, setting a personal example of safe behavior, and providing HSE leadership.

HSE indicators are included in the Company’s yearly KPIs for executives, heads of subsidiaries, and other personnel.

The Company operates its HSE operations in accordance with international best standards through the Integrated Health, Safety, and Environment Management System (HSE IMS).

The HSE IMS is part of the overall management system of the company and represents processes, procedures, organizational structure, and resources used for effective risk and opportunity management, compliance control, and continuous improvement of HSE performance.

The Company validates compliance of its HSE IMS with ISO standards (and/or Kazakhstan GOST R ISO) on a yearly basis.

The Refinery places a premium on collaborations that allow for the exchange of knowledge and the advancement of HSE processes. “SP Group” holds partnership forums on a regular basis to that purpose.
